Established in 1998 by a group of four local civic-minded businesswomen, The Marquis Foundation was founded to address a growing need for supplemental funding for area non-for-profit social and educational agencies. Since its inception, matching the communities’ generosity with a festive annual ball celebrating Greater Lafayette, has been an outstanding success. To date, the foundation has raised and awarded over $440,000 to 38 agencies. Now entering its 27th year, 2024 promises to be another year of fun and philanthropy.
The Crystal Ball attracts over 200 enthusiastic patrons for a festive evening of dining, dancing, and recognizing local agencies with supportive grants for their important community endeavors.
Individuals, corporate sponsors, and ball patrons provide the funds that are used for annual grant awards that typically range from $10,000 to $20,000 each year.
The foundation’s mission is to support and foster programs and initiatives that enhance the quality of life in the Greater Lafayette community. Funds, either gap or seed monies, are awarded in response to annual grant requests received from community organizations.
